Familia por la Eternidad

Last spring break we flew up to Edmonton to attend the temple sealing of the Cuevas Family for time and all eternity. Despite the fact that it snowed the whole time we were there, it was an enjoyable trip. We spent most of the time at the house playing with the girls. On one of the days we had the opportunity to visit the girls' school and to meet their teachers.  To finish off the trip, we went sledding at a nearby public park.

Of course Calvin couldn't miss this!

The Grand Finale to Summer

Dave moved down to San Antonio last week to get settled in before starting law school on August 22.  We decided to spend the weekend in Corpus Christi as it's only about a 2 hour drive from San Antonio.  It was a nice way to finish off the summer before the stress of classes start.

 

We spent most of Friday afternoon on the beach at North Padre Island.

 We drove and crossed on the ferry to Port Aransas in the evening to watch the sun go down.

On Saturday morning, we went to explore the USS Lexington, a decommissioned WWII-era aircraft carrier.

There were lots of fake sharks around, but we didn't see any real ones.

Dave Finally Graduates

Dave had his graduation ceremony on August 13.  He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and a minor in Spanish.  Ale's sisters Gaby and Zandy, and their families went to the ceremony.  Afterwards, our family friends, the Hurst's, came over to Dave's parent's house for pizza (Ale did a great job decorating!).

Apparently Mickey graduated as well.
